The story of Cannon Safes starts like many great businesses and brands as an idea, a product to fill a need blended with the capabilities of the existing business. Cannon Safe was started in 1965 in the back corner of a factory belonging to Astro Fab, a company which specialized in the complete fabrication of all types of sheet metal products. Armed with an idea to produce a high quality yet affordable safe, Sidney Moore designed and created the first series of Cannon Safes. As Astro-Fab grew and expanded, Cannon Safe became the company’s main product line and quickly, Cannon Safe started its journey to being one of the national leading safe company that it is today.
